Gas price all about the market
Thursday, December 04, 2008
The Chronicle Journal -- Drivers in Thunder Bay may be used to paying more for fuel than those living in the southern part of the province, but many people are asking whether the discrepancy is fair.

In recent weeks the price of a litre of regular gas has dropped across the province, giving drivers in Thunder Bay the chance to buy fuel for less than $1 per litre for the first time in nine months.

On Wednesday, price tracking website GasBuddy.com showed the lowest price of gas in Thunder Bay was 89.5 cents per litre while the highest was 93.2 cents.

In Toronto, drivers were seeing prices as low as 75.5 cents per litre, according to the website.

OPEC and the commodity traders are not the only ones trying to control gas prices. Don't let the distributors and stations tell you they are only making a penny a gallon.

Price here in Orlando have stayed around 1.72/gallon since oil was around 55-60. Wonder what price it will take to get us through this level and go lower?

And Canadian fuel prices drop more.
Thunder Bay is way out there, no wonder fuel is so high.
The market gas price has always been about supply and demand…

I am sure Ken Boscroff knows that the political members know how important the oilbarons are to the parties in Ottawa, brought on by donations and lobbyists.

It should be lower here too. The wholesale price of gas is the lowest it has been. When we had our local gas increase just before Thanksgiving, it has not lowered back down yet.

Someone is making a killing.

Hard to believe Canadian gas is running $3.39 ($2.66 US) a gallon with US prices running well below $2! Guess that's how the federally managed health care system is paid for

Are gas taxes higher in Canada? Must be since their gas prices are closer to $3 a gallon.

Gas Buddy is great because it helps the average Joe avoid and plan around the price gouging gas stations, which in turn causes them to eventually lower their prices or become extinct.
