Yes! Spirit especially! They charge for the Ticket Agent to print a Boarding Pass! $100 for a Gate Check Bag! Charge, charge charge! Advertise $9.99 Fares IF you are a Spirit Member and end result is over $100! All this for smaller seating too. Talk about "cattle!" Definite Buyer Beware! Everyone needs to do research before booking. All this garbage of letting people PURCHASE only what their needs require is a total crock! Sad thing is the Business Travelers do not care because companies pay for their travel! The average traveler is penalized with the continual ridiculous add-on fees. And, we are still charged for Internet Bookings. It is GREED and the poor Airline Employees do not get annual raises???? Stop using increased Fuel Surcharges as an EXCUSE! Even when looking at Virgin Atlantic, click on the "Fare Breakdown" and you will see the Fuel Charge TWICE the amount of the Fare itself! There are less flights mow more than ever, so therefore, with a decrease in Flight Schedules, sure it looks like people are travelling more now because the flights are sold out. DUH! Do your homework before booking - or drive, take a train - better stay home! So tired of the GREED everywhere we turn around!

no surprise. And no reason. Fuel has been low. Consumers SHOULD balk.

Airlines will do what Big Oil does - whatever they want. The airlines and Big oil will maintain their profits without regard to your well being or your possible economic problems. Don't use the airlines anyway, you will not be exposed to TSA body grouping and no stupid, retarded, unnecessary and very personal inspections either. The TSA are and must employ degenerate and immoral people that like to touch other people in certain ways that no civil and up standing moral person would ever do and be able to get away with it too. Let's have 'coming out of the closet' Barry go through the TSA inspection lines a few times and see how he feels about it. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

forever and ever but it is still not an overly expensive way to travel - lots of people don't realize what they get for their buck. I have been saving frequent flyer miles forever and I use them for upgrades to business or first class - yum, well worth it when you are not able to dash around like a youngster anymore.

Again,
I bought tickets from Newark to Las Vegas for $279 dollars just a few days ago.
Cheap air prices are out there, as are cheaper gas prices.
Explore and experience.
Those who continually are nay-sayers exist, but do you really want to believe their reality????

It was inevitable with all the mergers and acquisitions of smaller start-ups.
It's cheaper to buy some new outfits when you get to your destination, then give them away, versus getting whacked twice for an extra bag.

Honestly, I'm so busy working to make ends meet and working on the house to make it worth more, I just can't afford to fly anywhere.
Therefore, I couldn't care less if airline prices doubled!

“How does this relate to gas prices for cars???”
Why do you ask, Serrog? (and Mstearno) Airplanes use petroleum fuel (lots of it) so anything that affects air travel affects the energy market. Have you read the guidelines for GB news posting? It would be good to do that before complaining.

My question is -- Who voted this up to the top story of the day???
???????????????
Perhaps we must explore why articles are voted to the top and the question of "voter fraud"
